Lady Gaga draws criticism for 'don't eat' tweet

Uh oh - it seems that yet another megastar has run afoul of the Twitterverse.
Lady Gaga is taking some virtual heat over a tweet she sent to her 22 million followers on Tuesday that used a hashtag that said pop stars don't eat, and it's being translated by some as a promotion of unhealthy habits.
"Just killed back to back spin classes," Gaga posted. "Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay."
Followers quickly let her have it.
"dear @ladygaga,” one wrote, according to E! News. “You just blatantly endorsed anorexia to over 22 million followers. how do you sleep at night?" Another said, "@ladygaga they don't eat but they should. #popsingersSHOULDeat."
Other readers suggested that fans no longer follow one of the most-followed celebrities on Twitter: "unfollow @ladygaga 4 her ignorant and stupid message to her fans #popsingersdonteat wow ur a role model act like 1 dont praise anorexia wtf?"
The National Eating Disorders Association also weighed in, writing, "Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?"
In February, Gaga spoke openly about her past struggle with an eating disorder when she was a guest at a young women's conference in Los Angeles, and she encouraged the teens present to call a cease fire on "the dieting wars."
