Update by update, you have brought us into the conversation you are having about theTrayvon Martin shooting case.
We’ve received multiple legal questions about this very complicated case. We’ve also noticed a few debates happening on Facebook.com/HLN and on Twitter with @HLNtv. Here a look at a few of those conversations.
Were the charges fair?
"NO!! Ridiculous! She is over zealous. He was a scapegoat from the start. So sick of the racial BS in this case!" Kimberly Gibbons Walton posted on Facebook. She was not alone in feeling that way.
"Over charged him (my opinion)," Nikki Brown posted.
"What if this was your child who was killed? Then would it be over charged?" Clayton Cooke posted in response.
Not everyone thought the decision to charge Zimmerman with second-degree murder was off.
"She's got the evidence and the confidence that she can secure a conviction. So I would say, yeah, she made the right decision," Caren Kornfield Rago wrote.
Will this case turn out like the Casey Anthony verdict?
With both cases taking place in Florida, and with so many cries of justice, people have also been invoking the name of one of the state’s most infamous defendants – Casey Anthony.
"Let me tell you what happens when you arrest and try to appease the masses, Casey Anthony," @shannonleallen posted on Twitter.
"Florida does NOT want a 'Casey Anthony' repeat. Be glad the special prosecutor is dotting i's and crossing t's!" Jill Reazor posted on Facebook.
